I create outdoor native gardens and water features for humans and wildlife to enjoy.   I don’t care whether you hire me or some other gardener, just transform your outdoor space into a wildlife wonderland.
Create a pocket park in your own backyard.  If you hire someone to do it, great.
If you get your hands dirty, even better.  Just do it.  Now.  It’s urgent

... SPECIAL FOR ELDERS' LIVING FACILITIES:  As a member of the Los Angeles Audubon Society I will combine my passion for birds with my passion for nature to create environments where older people can explore and enjoy connecting with nature and the outdoors using native plants and water features.  Even the most progressive care facilities can be stark and barren -- some are downright depressing, looking clinical and sterile, with little in the way of variety in daily activities.

Here is Mortimer,
also a pal of mine.
I pal around with him.

Lisa likes to leave a little something behind when she works on your garden.  Here are three of her Goldfinch friends whose stomachs are as yellow as the ribbon that attracts them.

Lisa is actually a bird housekeeper.

On Guardian Angels

Perhaps my angels have all along been birds.
How often am I out of their sight?
Even when I'm indoors, they come
to the window, seek me, keep watch.

So what if I can't understand their speech?
As long as the dawn hears the rooster & the waves
take their cue from the gulls, I too can have
their music without demanding sense of it.

In the main, my angels are small, brown sparrows,
who fly like tiny grapeshot & fastidiously watch,
but call little attention to themselves.  They even seem
indifferent; but isn't that a perfect disguise?

ü About Lisa (complete bio):

  • Board Member:  Los Angeles Audubon Society and Friends of Ballona Wetlands in LA, Peers Influence Peers Partnership out of the NY area
  • Former VP, Paramount Pictures
  • Former Bird, Yellow Warbler
  • Certified Master Gardener, Environmental Restoration Specialist
  • I have a crew and connections with birds, butterflies, spiders, and my fantastic partner (Jamie at Sierra Pacific Designs), will create a water wonderland in your garden, anywhere in the Los Angeles area.

Let me introduce you to Micah the Monarch,
one of my many close friends.

The outdoors gives people who spend most of their time indoors a chance to move, breathe in the air, hear water trickling, see birds, butterflies and other creatures of the garden.

I make the gardens wheel-chair friendly, and depending upon the physical capabilities of the seniors, hands-on. Depending upon the levels of mobility, elders will be able to participate in the actual gardening, weeding, and feeding the birds.  For us in Southern California, outdoor time can be year round. Some seniors will just want to sit out in the garden and read a book or nap. The idea is to create an outdoor sanctuary, not only for the elders, but also for smaller neighborhood creatures who are continually being evicted from urban communities and open space by re-development and expansion.

This vision combines two goals of mine, to give quality of life alternative lifestyles to the older generation and to reclaim and give a little of our world back to nature.  It’s a win-win situation.

Before Giardino Della Vita and After ...

We took an unsightly walk down to an air compressor and spruced it up a wee bit with some stucco, flagstone and a rope fence -
so sensible and alluring!

he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect of humans too."
